• Lead paint debris — if you are disturbing painted surfaces in pre-1978 construction, follow EPA RRP rules
• Hazardous chemicals — solvents, adhesives, spray foam cans, paint (liquid), caulk tubes with product remaining
• Refrigerants and HVAC equipment — must be properly recovered before disposal

• Tires
• Batteries — automotive or lithium

This is the most important thing to understand about construction dumpsters: weight matters more than volume on heavy jobs.

Our 15-yard dumpster has a 3-ton (6,000 lb) weight limit. That is plenty for most residential remodels, framing jobs, and mixed debris loads. But certain materials are dense enough to hit that limit before the dumpster looks full:

Practical rule: If your job involves significant concrete, brick, or multi-layer shingle tear-off, call us before you start. We can help you plan whether you need a mid-job swap-out or a second pull.

Overweight loads incur additional fees at the landfill — we pass those through at cost and will always notify you before pickup if we expect an overage.

We work with Amarillo-area contractors on a regular basis and understand that your schedule is not flexible. Here is how to make the rental work for your job:

Book the day before. Call us the afternoon before your job starts and we will have the dumpster on site first thing in the morning. Same-day delivery is available if you call before noon.

Tell us your timeline upfront. We offer 3-day, 7-day, 14-day, and 30-day rentals. If your project is likely to run long — or if weather could be a factor, which it always can be in the Texas Panhandle — book the longer rental. It is cheaper than a swap-out.

Call for pickup when you are done. Do not wait until the last day of your rental period. Call us when the job is wrapped and we will schedule pickup within 24 hours. That gets the dumpster off your job site and frees up the space.

Need a second pull? If you fill the dumpster before the job is done, call us. We will pull the full one and drop a fresh one, usually the same day or next morning.

Where you put the dumpster affects how efficiently your crew can use it. A few guidelines:

• As close to the work area as possible — every extra step your crew takes to reach the dumpster is wasted time
• On a hard, level surface — driveway, parking lot, or compacted gravel; avoid soft ground that could sink under the weight
• Clear of overhead obstructions — power lines, tree branches, and overhangs; we need clearance to drop and pick up
• Not blocking traffic or access — if the dumpster needs to go on a public street, a City of Amarillo permit is required; see our dumpster permit guide

Protecting the surface: If you are concerned about the dumpster scratching or cracking a finished driveway or parking lot, ask us about boards under the wheels when you book.

The type of project affects what goes in the dumpster and how fast it fills up.

New construction tends to generate lighter, bulkier debris — lumber cutoffs, packaging, drywall scraps, insulation. A 15-yard dumpster typically handles a full new residential build in one or two pulls.

Renovation and demo work is heavier. Tearing out tile, concrete, or multiple layers of flooring adds up fast. On a full gut-renovation, plan for at least two pulls or call us to discuss the scope before you start.
